TEMSEA Scholars

Scholarship Overview - The Tennessee Emergency Medical Services Education Association (TEMSEA) is proud to support aspiring EMS professionals by offering scholarships for initial EMS education at the EMT, Advanced EMT (AEMT), and Paramedic levels. Scholarships are designed to alleviate financial burdens and encourage dedicated individuals to pursue a rewarding career in emergency medical services. In 2025, TEMSEA will provide up to $4,500 in scholarships, divided between the 3 grand divisions in Tennessee for EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic at an award of $500.00 per recipient.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must be enrolled or accepted into an accredited/approved EMS education institution or approved service level EMS program in Tennessee.

  • Must be pursuing an EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic certification.

  • Must demonstrate financial need, commitment to the EMS profession, and a desire to serve the community.

  • Candidates who have had their EMS license suspended, revoked, or otherwise disciplined by the State of Tennessee Office of EMS, or other state recognized EMS authorities, are not eligible. 

  • Open to new and existing EMS students who have not yet obtained licensure at the level of their current education program.


Authority – The TEMSEA Board is the final authority regarding the scholarship awards. The TEMSEA Scholarship Committee may authorize or withdraw funding for a recipient at any time.

Application Instructions - Please complete the scholarship application form to be considered for the TEMSEA Scholarship. Applications are due June 30. Winners will be announced at the TEMSEA awards banquet and annual meeting July 31, 2025 at Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro, TN. Applicants do not need to be present at the banquet to receive the award.
